Description

Make a difference in the world! When he was a boy, William McRaven dreamed of being a superhero. He longed to don a cape and use his superpowers to save the earth from destruction. The first time he visited New York City with his father, he kept looking up, hoping to see Superman or Batman on top of the buildings. The Hero's Code is Admiral William W. McRaven's tribute to the real, everyday heroes he met on battlefields, in hospitals, at universities, everywhere he went. People who are doing their part to improve everyone's lives. Men and women who are not strong or wear capes, but have other qualities: physical and moral courage, humility, willingness to sacrifice themselves and a deep sense of integrity. The author brings these examples back and presents the innate qualities that anyone can develop to become a superhero in their community. And actually make a difference in people’s lives.
